Barclays Appoints Antonio Castañon as Chief Operating Officer for its US Consumer Bank

Barclays today announced the appointment of Antonio (Tony) Castañon as Chief Operating Officer for Barclays US Consumer Bank and Barclays Bank Delaware, where he will oversee the bank’s consumer operations in the United States.

Castañon is a seasoned financial services leader with over 30 years of experience in global Fortune 500 corporations. He most recently served as the Head of Credit and Collections for US Personal Bank Operations at Citi. Prior to this, he served as Vice President, Citibank Mexico Operations and Technology; Chief Operations Officer for Citi Retail Services; and General Manager for the Sears Card Portfolio. Earlier in his career, he held leadership operations roles at Sprint (now T-Mobile) and Aetna Health Care.

Castañon will report to CEO Denny Nealon and serve on the executive committees for both the US Consumer Bank and Barclays Bank Delaware.
