Social Media Community Guidelines
We created social media guidelines to make sure our community is a safe, respectful and enjoyable environment. Barclays Bank US, representing Barclays US Consumer Bank, social media pages are public, which means anyone can see your posts to our social pages, and your posts may even show up in search engine results on Google, Bing, or Yahoo!.
Please read carefully, as these guidelines contain information about sharing and contributing content, and how we’ll respond to anything we deem abusive, unsuitable or derogatory.
Please be respectful to others including our colleagues monitoring and responding to inquiries on our social media pages. Any contribution deemed offensive or inappropriate will be removed. Examples may include:
- Threats or personal attacks - abusive, defamatory, derogatory, or inflammatory language; or stalking or harassment of any individual, entity or organization
- Discriminatory or hate speech of any kind
- Profane, obscene, disruptive, off topic, excessive or repetitive (trolling) postings
- False, inaccurate, or misleading content
- Spam or fraudster behaviors
Barclays Bank US reserves the right to ban any user from our social media pages without prior written notice or consent for violations of our social media guidelines. Any comment(s) posted that we deem to be criminal in nature, or that instigates or implies violence toward oneself or another may be reported to the proper authorities.
Privacy and Security
For the security of your account, never provide account sensitive information. If you include personal identifiable information, which may include Social Security numbers, full account numbers, phone numbers or e-mail addresses in a public post, comment or reply, it may be deleted. Our Social Media pages may not be used for the submission of any claim, demand, informal or formal complaint, or any other form of legal and/or administrative notice or process, or for the exhaustion of any legal and/or administrative remedy.
Do not post or transmit material you do not have the right to post or transmit under law (such as copyright, trade secrets, or securities) or due to your personal contractual or fiduciary relationships. Please do not submit any ideas or materials that you wish to keep confidential or for which you expect to receive compensation.
